LIFESTYLE: 25 Ways to Wear a Scarf In 4.5 Minutes

I’ve been meaning to share this for a while, now that most of America is in scarf-wearing weather (those of us in Southern California are not, but that doesn’t stop us). This video is a wonderful gem and resource on how to tie a scarf (easy style upgrade) so many ways. Love this!

LIFESTYLE: Engagement and marriage
I am back with wonderful and exciting news: I am engaged!
Everything was all so sweet and wonderful. He proposed to me on his birthday (after a day of being kids at Legoland and yummy birthday sushi at our favorite sushi restaurant). We decided to take a walk along the San Diego harbor. After a bit of a walk, we sat on a park bench. No one else was around except for us. With the San Diego skyline lights in the background, he went down on one knee.
“I have a present for you, even though it’s my birthday. You’ve always taught me that every day is special, and every day with you especially … and I want the rest of my days to be with you. Will you marry me?”
It wasn’t as grandiose or embarrassing as I had always imagined a proposal should be, but it was perfect. I’m glad it was really just us because that was all we needed.
Now, I have my hands full planning a wedding, which is super fun. Date TBD. But there’s so much more to that than just a special day (although there will be nothing like it).

I talked to my mom the night of the proposal and she said that everything would be different from now on. One thing that has been camping out in my mind is how marriage is the foundation of family. I believe God always had a family culture in mind from the very beginning. He is our Father, and we are his children. But how do families start? With a husband and a wife. I find it interesting that the first “institution” created in the Garden of Eden was basically marriage. Adam and Eve were created to be together — and neither could experience the fullness of God and His love without each other. They were created to promote a family culture based on love, intimacy, respect and honor and spread that along through sons and daughters (biological or not).
And that’s what I had in mind when I said yes.
